When I decided to create this website, the primary reason was to carve out a piece of the internet where I can tell the world "My name is Hector! These are my podcasts. Please listen." Portfolios might not sound sexy, but to creators they're essential. It isn't just a list of what we've done professionally-- it's a culmination of the very things we've created. A portfolio takes the projects we've put countless hours into and turns that into a snapshot. That's both scary and exciting.
But I'm more than the list of podcasts I've worked on. I'm also a writer...

Where does the blog fit into this?
My foray into expression through creativity really started when I was an English major during my undergraduate years. For as long as I can remember I was never the best speaker. But in writing I could express myself in ways that I just couldn't explain. Whether writing something technical or analytical like a typical college English essay, or something personal and autobiographical... writing became my way to say the things that were so hard for me to express verbally. I didn't have to worry about how I looked standing in front of an audience or whether my stutter would make an appearance. In writing I had more control.
Introduction to blogging
This website initially works as a culmination of the podcasts and projects I have worked on and will work on. But there is a part of me that knows I can't give up writing. I might not do it professionally, but damn do I still enjoy it. Plus, blogging just seems natural for a writer who wants to write. Right?
I'm new to this space. But I love writing and I love creating, so I'm unfathomably excited to try my hand at this. Over time, I hope to gain some sort of idea of what I want to do, or what this might become. In the meantime, please enjoy and let me know what you think!
